First Day in London...

Hey Everyone.
Since you are reading this, you can safetly assume I'm alive and well. The long awaited semester of my college career is finally happening. Sometimes, I can't even beleive i'm actually here.

The flight took about 7 hours and 45 min.s. I sat next to a junior at Indiana State University who was also traveling to London for the semester. She was nice and considerate. I watched Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell on the way. I was a bit disappointed with it though, so i'm glad I didn't waste the money to see it in the states. Well aftering the horriably long sleepless flight, and spending an hour and a half walking through the line for immigration, I was in London.

The step of finding the shuttle bus was a bit complex. I had to ask around a few times in order to find out where the damn service desk was located. After finding it, and a short wait, I was on my way to The Vandon House (my dorm where i'll be staying).

The House is actually more of a hotel, and it is right downtown in Westminster. About 3-4 other people are here, and I figured i'll meet them soon enough when everyone else moves in. It's time to do some exploring on my own at first. I couldn't ask for a better location to see everything. Kevin's Let's go to London Travel book said this neighborhood reminds you almost to the heart of the ond British Empire, and it's true--it honestly does. Tomarrow I'll take some more pictures of the area. I walked to Victoria Street and ate at a Mc Donolalds (I was himgry and in a cheap mood, sorry!) and I walked in a couple of shops along with finding an ATM to withdraw some money. Afterwards, I walked back home, and took a few hour nap. Next thing I decided to was to seek out of some of London's Trance and Euro Music at a local record shoppe. I walked all the way up past the Green and St James Parks all the way up past St James Palace and to Trafalger Square. Of course at the time I had no idea where I was. Except I only saw many, many people. Most were dressed to go out to the bars and clubs. They had a giant Plasma Screen TV on the side of a building just like in NYC. Amidst the crazy night life of the British, I found my record shop and bought three things [Paul Van Dyk's Crush Single (Vinyl), Groove Coverage's Poisin (Vinyl), and Made in Italy, Ibiza Seris (CD)]. For 16 GBP, I don't consider that a rip off by any means. Afterward, I decided to head back to the Vandon House. I got a little lost on the way home-but now that I maped it out, either was I was going would have gotten me home. Until Next time...Cheers.

-Joe
